About the Therapy

Moxibustion Heat Therapy comes from the word “Moe Kusa” which means “burning herb”. This kind of traditional treatment originated from China. Chinese practitioners have used this treatment for more than a hundred years now. The herb used in this thereapy is called “Artemesia”. The treatment procedure consists of burning herbs to be applied near agonizing and distressing areas of the body.

Artemesis are fragrant herbs which are widely used for various organic home remedies and diseases. It is a mugwort flower that contains essential oils such as cineole, wormwood oil, and thujone, flavonoids, triterpenes, and coumarin derivative typess. This type of procedure is a way of heating different areas of your body system.

The 2 Types of Treatment Methods for Heat Therapy

1. Direct Contact – The heat and the herbs has a direct contact in the skins surface

2. Indirect Contact – This type requires a medium to be in between the surface of the skin and the burning moxa. The medium can be salt, white pepper past, garlic or ginger.
